As the "International Summer Academy for Fine Arts and Media Venice" could not take place this year, we postpone our program for this year to 2021. The starting date is therefore Sunday June 20, 2021.
But we made an alternative project for 2020:
Since there will probably be no vernissages, no art fairs, no biennials for a long time, the usual exchange about art comes to a standstill. Many art fairs go online, but since a fair is a social event, it doesn't really work.
As the International Summer Academy, we have developed a presentation format with the Saturday shows, which is based on topics as well as on the art master classes. We want to use this format to compile a presentation of our best artists in the current “quiet time.”
As a theme, we propose to show how each of us can name his / her unspeakable demons, fears and sinister feelings that may currently surround us because we are able to express them in painting, literature, photography or dance. And once the demons are named, they are also tamed. We call it "taming of the demons." It doesn't necessarily have to be works that have been created now, but works from the past can also be used on this subject. An example is available at www.produzentengalerie.wien/wolf-werdigier-blog, an example of the format is available at the link to the catalog “100 Artists of Tomorrow."
In the order of the art master classes, we are presenting the best works here.
When everything comes to a standstill, the essential arises, what is enduring arises. We want to show that too.
All the best
