A model, which can be described between Summer Academy and Artist in Residency was tested in Drosendorf, a castle near the Austrian-Czech border.
A small group of students worked at the same time, parallel with the teaching staff. The focus was primary not on teaching but on producing. The experimental aspect was opened up by combining painting and music.
Painting and music are two different arts that actually do not go togehter, because the one is static during time and the other developes in it. In excitement of the moment, its movements and its dynamics of becoming. Once the process of painting has come to an end, the image remains as the resonance of music: when the music stops the image continues. In connecting painting with music, we continuously transcent the boundries between immutability and liveness.
